Campaigns By Damien Neva
Rockstar status for Sung Jin Park was never really in doubt. Ever since vaulting into fashion’s collective conscious last October in WWD with his heavily denim, self-described “old rockabilly” style, Sung Jin has become all but synonymous with the musical form championed by the likes of Buddy Holly to Iggy Pop. And so it becomes all but academic that the model from South Korea would feature alongside Los Angeles art rockers Warpaint in the fall campaign for Calvin Klein Jeans by photographer Tyrone Lebon and stylist Beat Bolliger. A collage of still photos taken inside a rock club and arranged to resemble strips of film on a light board create the campaign’s visual palette and extend the iconic American brand’s willfully badass ethos. Make no mistake, this is a full-volume advertising series and Sung Jin Park is at its center leading capacity crowds during all the choruses.
